Jeff Johnson, owner and founder of Dire Wolf Tattoo, began his tattooing career in the Conejo Valley in 2002. His journey led him through shops in the San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles, as well as various tattoo conventions across the United States and abroad, before he returned to Thousand Oaks to open Dire Wolf Tattoo and Fine Art in 2015. Jeff is celebrated for his versatility as a tattooer, adept in a wide range of styles, but he particularly enjoys crafting custom, hand-drawn designs tailored to each client’s individuality. His favored subjects include Japanese floral themes, intricate snakes, skulls, waves, dragons, and ornamental designs, often executed in fine line black and grey or bold color work. Beyond tattooing, Jeff is a passionate painter, creating still life studies in oil and illustrative works using watercolor and mixed media, and occasionally accepts painting commissions.
