Jesse Neese

Jesse Neese is a highly experienced tattoo artist at Nuclear Ink Custom Tattoo in Omaha, Nebraska. He launched his tattooing career in 1999, after completing an apprenticeship with a prominent local artist. Jesse brings a robust artistic and academic background to his craft, having studied visual art, art history, theatrical design, and faux painting at the University of Nebraska’s Omaha campus from 1992 to 2000, where he earned degrees in Studio Art and Dramatic Arts.

Jesse demonstrates exceptional versatility, mastering both color and black and grey work across a broad spectrum of styles. He specializes in portraiture, realism, illustration, abstraction, surrealism, graffiti, neo-traditional, fantasy, tribal, and fine line tattoos. A hallmark of his artistry is the emphasis on faux textures like stone, metal, and embroidery, creating intricate three-dimensional illusions, realistic shadowing, and dramatic lighting effects. He draws inspiration from a diverse range of sources, including historical art styles such as woodcuts and etchings, alongside comic books, graffiti, and fantasy art. Jesse is also highly regarded for his expertise in tattoo restoration and cover-ups, transforming old or unwanted tattoos into award-winning new pieces. His work and artwork have been featured in numerous international publications and have garnered several accolades.

Beyond his creative talents, Jesse is a dedicated advocate for safety and professionalism within the tattoo industry. He is an active member of the Alliance of Professional Tattooists (APT), where he serves as an instructor for their “Preventing Disease Transmission in Tattooing” seminar, an advisor to the Board of Directors, and the APT Health and Education Coordinator. He also contributes his expertise to the Body Art Committee for the National Environmental Health Association.
