Zhuo Dan Ting

Zhuo Dan Ting, affectionately known as Ms. Ting, is the world-renowned founder of Shanghai Tattoo. Often referred to as “China’s First Lady of Tattoo” by CNN, she embarked on her tattooing journey in 2001, opening her first studio in China in 2003 before establishing Shanghai Tattoo in Shanghai in 2007. Ms. Ting expanded her acclaimed brand to Historic Folsom, California, in 2018. An artist of international acclaim, her work has been featured in prestigious publications like CNN, Inked Magazine, and Skin Art Magazine, with Shanghai Tattoo consistently recognized among the top 20 iconic tattoo shops worldwide. Ms. Ting specializes in black and grey and color photo realism, Asian traditional, and brushed style Chinese calligraphy and Asian art. While she is celebrated for larger pieces such as full sleeves, back pieces, and torso work, she is equally skilled in creating intricate portraiture. Her artistic range spans from her personal favorite, gory horror imagery, to traditional Chinese themes, reflecting her diverse creative influences.
