Jess Gowling

Jess Gowling is the owner and a dedicated tattoo artist at Moonlit Fangs Tattoo, with private studios located in Cranbrook, BC, and Camrose, AB. As a non-binary artist using they/them pronouns, Jess is committed to fostering an inclusive, eco-certified, and trauma-informed environment where clients feel safe, supported, and empowered.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art Printmaking (2010), specializing in etching, engraving, and illustration, Jess brings over 15 years of professional fine art experience to their tattooing practice. They seamlessly transitioned to tattooing in 2020, applying their expertise in intricate line work and detailed design to skin. Jess is best known for their illustrative blackwork tattoos, which often feature animal and botanical imagery viewed through an esoteric lens. Their signature style is characterized by detailed animal portraiture and precise illustrative line work, reflecting the essence of their fine art background.

Beyond their exceptional artistry, Jess is the creator of the 100 Ink Animals Oracle Deck and gained public recognition from their appearance on Big Brother Canada. Moonlit Fangs Tattoo stands out not only for its unique artistic offerings but also as one of only a few eco-certified shops in British Columbia, actively reducing the environmental impact of tattooing.
