Bobby and Larry Shaw, the sons of legendary tattoo artist Bob Shaw, both followed in their father’s footsteps to become accomplished tattooers. Larry Shaw began tattooing at the Long Beach shop in 1972, while Bobby Shaw entered the profession after his military service. To support their budding careers, their father, Bob Shaw, and Col. Todd opened a shop in Santa Ana specifically for Bobby and Bob Roberts to learn the trade. Today, both brothers tattoo out of Texas, with Larry Shaw notably operating Shaw’s Tattoo in Houston, the city’s first licensed tattoo shop, continuing their family’s prominent legacy in the industry.
