Red Gabe Red is the esteemed founder, owner, and a lead artist at Armadillo Reds Tattoo, the oldest and most renowned tattoo shop in Central Florida, established in 1980. With decades of experience, he is a pioneer in the industry, known for evolving traditional tattooing methods and passionately sharing his expertise by apprenticing and teaching many artists over the years. Red Gabe Red’s artistic journey was profoundly influenced by his early appreciation for Native American art and the intricate fantasy works of artists like Franzetta and Boris Vallejo, styles he masterfully incorporated into his own craft. Beyond his studio work, he holds significant leadership positions within the tattoo community, including co-heading the National Tattoo Association with his wife Vicki, serving as a life member and on the board of directors for the Alliance of Professional Tattooists (APT), and actively contributing to the Florida Professional Tattoo Artist Guild (FPTAG) board, advocating for professional standards and licensing in Florida.
