Laura Bonfanti is the artist and owner of Cousin Paul’s Tattoo Co. in St. Louis City. A native of St. Louis and a graduate of CVPA High School with a background in visual art, photography, creative writing, and silversmithing, she began her tattooing career in 1996. After an apprenticeship under R. Hammer Madison and ‘Tatu’ Tony DiPietro near Daytona, FL, she honed her skills across diverse styles. Laura specializes in custom work, focusing on neo-traditional (both black and gray and color), black and gray ornamental, fineline/textural black and gray, and neo-Japanese themes, particularly for larger projects. Her deep interest in visual art, cultural anthropology, healing arts, and body adornment informs her transformative approach to tattooing.
