Adam Paterson is the owner and operator of Jersey City Tattoo Company, where he has been a foundational presence since the shop opened in 2007. His journey in tattooing began in 1995 in a Lower East Side apartment in New York City while attending art school, a time when tattooing was still illegal there. Adam officially started tattooing professionally in 2001, following an apprenticeship with Lesley Allen and with the assistance of Deirdre Aikin. While he enjoys all styles of tattooing, Adam’s expertise shines brightest in his strong focus on traditional Japanese and classic American tattoo styles.
