Rémi Filiatrault

Rémi Filiatrault is a tattoo artist and studio owner at Dr.Couleur in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec. With a bachelor’s degree in visual arts from La Fabrique de l’Université Laval, Rémi, also known as el Ray, brings a rich background in photography, drawing, and painting to his tattoo practice. He was drawn to the tattoo world for its evolving, free, and creative approach, emphasizing the crucial human connection in his work.

Rémi’s artistic vision is deeply rooted in nature and mythology. He holds a particular passion for animals, especially the native fauna of Abitibi such as rabbits, foxes, crows, and bears. Wild flora, including mushrooms and fruit shrubs, also serves as a significant source of inspiration. His portfolio frequently features mythological characters and creatures, often integrated with female figures or skulls. Recurring motifs like bees, beehives, and honey further enrich his nature-inspired themes.

While primarily known for his vibrant color work, Rémi also explores striking monochrome designs.
