Marcy Nielsen is an accomplished Edmonton-based tattoo artist and the founder of History Ink Tattoo, a new studio set to open in January 2025. With over 18 years of full-time tattooing experience, Marcy brings a rich artistic background to her craft, holding a Fine Art degree from the University of Alberta where she specialized in illustrative and sculptural mediums. She has contributed to the Edmonton tattoo scene for two decades as both an artist and shop owner.
Renowned for her deep respect for history and ancient design, Marcy specializes in traditional and ancient styles, including Polynesian, Nordic, and Celtic. Her expertise in these areas is widely recognized, notably through her feature in “Nordic Black’s, The Nordic Tattoo Vol 3,” a guide highlighting top Nordic and Celtic tattoo artists globally. Beyond these specialties, she also excels in neo-traditional, geometric, and henna-inspired pointillism, often incorporating natural subject matter, animal life, and intricate mandalas into her designs. Marcy is dedicated to helping clients express their innermost visions through world-class tattooing, embodying History Ink Tattoo’s motto: “purveyors of the ancient arts.”
