Matt Dinovo is the owner and founder of Black Squirrel Tattoo, located in Council Bluffs, IA. After realizing corporate life wasn’t for him following his graduation from the University of Iowa in 2000, Matt transitioned into the tattoo industry in 2003, beginning his career in Phoenix, Arizona. He returned to the Council Bluffs/Omaha area a year later, eventually establishing Black Squirrel Tattoo in 2010. Matt is celebrated for his versatility, excelling in both color and black & grey work with a strong emphasis on clean line work, solid saturation, and smooth shading. His preferred projects frequently feature Japanese themes, portraits, and neo-traditional influences, and he also expertly handles coverup tattoos. Outside of the studio, Matt is an avid toy collector, gamer, and enthusiast of 80s pop culture, enjoying bike rides, making playlists, and spending time with his dachshunds.
