Marie Joy Caldwell is an artist and published illustrator based in New Westminster, BC, Canada, where she owns and operates Medusa Illustration Tattoo. Originally from Vancouver, British Columbia, Marie earned her BFA from Emily Carr University of Art and Design in 2015, followed by an apprenticeship at Karmma Tattoo. She specializes in fine-line, detail-oriented, and illustrative dotwork designs, often creating pieces that resemble ‘storybook illustrations’ with crisp detailing. Marie is known for her passion for ‘nerdy, horror & weird pop culture inspired designs,’ allowing her to connect deeply with clients who share these interests. Beyond tattooing, her artistic endeavors include painting, stickers, and prints. Marie is committed to fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all, firmly believing that tattoos are for everyone, regardless of background or identity.
