Roland Pacheco

Roland Pacheco is a celebrated artist and the visionary founder of Xisle Custom Tattoo, North Kohala’s first and only custom tattoo shop, located in Kapa‘au/Hawi on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi. As a sixth-generation Polynesian, he brings over two decades of experience as a self-taught tattoo artist, skillfully blending deep cultural heritage with a versatile artistic approach.

Roland is renowned for his mastery across a diverse range of tattoo styles, including traditional Polynesian, realism, Irezumi, Black & Grey, vibrant color work, and Trash Polka, always eager to tackle any challenging design. His expansive creative journey extends beyond tattooing; he is also an accomplished painter, crafting commissions and murals, and an influential author with publications such as the “Spider Season” trilogy and foundational works on Polynesian tattoo art.

An award-winning competitor from Ink Master season four, Roland’s multifaceted career reflects a lifelong dedication to art and community. He actively documents local heritage through his “Tattoo Nomad” project, showcasing his commitment to preserving stories and artistry from around the world and within his own Kohala community.
