James Bird

James Bird is a highly experienced tattoo artist, illustrator, fine artist, and sculptor based in Vancouver, BC. Originally from Melbourne, Australia, he brings two decades of expertise to Sacred Heart Tattoo, one of Vancouver’s premier tattoo shops, where he has been working since 2017. Specializing in contemporary Japanese-inspired tattooing rooted in traditional Irezumi motifs, James also excels in a range of illustrative styles. His dedication to his craft is fueled by a constant drive for creativity, which extends beyond tattooing into various artistic mediums such as digital art, painting, laser engraving, digital sculpture, and 3D printing. This multidisciplinary approach allows him to continuously draw inspiration and integrate fresh perspectives into his tattoo work. He works by appointment and also welcomes walk-ins when time allows, offering a growing collection of pre-drawn flash designs in addition to custom projects.
