Meryl Hurwich

Meryl Hurwich is the heart and owner of InkWitch Tattoo, located in Stroudsburg, PA. With a career in tattooing spanning over two decades, Meryl has been working full-time in the industry since 2000, completing her apprenticeship with the talented Denise de la Cerda. Her extensive artistic background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art from Parsons School of Design and a previous role as Art Director for Tower Records.

Meryl is renowned for her versatile skill set, excelling in both finely detailed black and grey work and vibrant, full-color tattoos. Her true specialty lies in “Sacred Art as tattoo,” where she creates custom pieces that hold powerful spiritual meaning for individuals. She draws inspiration from a wide array of spiritual traditions, including Judeo-Christian, Native American, Wiccan, Islamic, and particularly favors imagery and iconography from Hindu and Tibetan Buddhist traditions.

Beyond traditional tattooing, Meryl also leads Pocono Paramedical Tattooing, where she applies her advanced artistic and tattooing skills to offer restorative services. This includes scar remediation (for acne, razor burn, stretch marks, surgical scars), body art cover-ups for scars, and 3-dimensional nipple/areola restoration. Her paramedical practice is distinguished by over 25 years of experience, a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, and a commitment to truly individualized care within a calm, private healing environment.
