Kervens

Kervens is the proud owner and lead artist at Kayfizz Tattoo in Saint-Lambert, Québec. His artistic journey began in his childhood in Haiti, where he cultivated a calm and reserved nature that found its voice through art. Largely self-taught through magazines, videos, and persistent experimentation, Kervens later benefited from the guidance of mentors. After arriving in Canada in 1994, he was profoundly influenced by his uncle Jean, an activist who used art to champion Black rights, inspiring Kervens to view art as more than a simple pastime. Transitioning from drawing on t-shirts and shoes in his youth, and a career in automotive bodywork, Kervens became a professional tattoo artist in 2014, learning under the renowned Don Bouchard. He established Kayfizz Tattoo, his own studio, in 2020. Kervens has received numerous accolades for his artistic talent, including first place at Vocation en art in 2014 and 2015, and was a grand regional winner in 2014. More recently, he was a winner at the Salon des arts visuels de Brossard in 2017, participated in several RAW events in 2022, and was both a finalist at Art Battle Montréal and a winner at Art Battle Québec City in 2023, culminating in a finalist position at the Art Battle Canadian National Championship in Toronto.
