Ben Merrell is the owner of Wildland Tattoo Studio in Fort Collins, CO. With two decades of experience in the tattoo industry, he established his private studio in January 2024, aiming to provide a serene and personalized tattooing experience. Ben’s journey in tattooing began in 2003, alongside his studies in forestry fire science at Colorado State University.
He specializes in a diverse range of styles, with a particular passion for Japanese and Art Nouveau designs. Ben also excels in illustrative versions of animals and botanical themes, as well as mandalas, organic geometry, skulls, ornamental, and script designs. His approach is deeply collaborative, focusing on understanding each client’s vision to create custom tattoos that resonate personally. He is dedicated to crafting a comfortable and welcoming environment where clients can enjoy the entire process, resulting in unique and meaningful art. Beyond the studio, Ben finds inspiration in the outdoors, enjoying camping, hunting, fishing, and hiking with his family.
