Big Island Mike Castillo is a House Artist at Hale Nui Tattoos in Honolulu. He began tattooing in 2001, completing his apprenticeship under the renowned Mark Mahoney at Shamrock Social Club in Hollywood, CA, with guidance from Rick Walters and Freddy Negrete. Mike is particularly recognized for his work within the action sports community, having tattooed notable figures such as Travis Pastrana, the Nitro Circus crew, and Weeman of the Jackass crew. While he excels in all tattoo styles, his favorite specialty is black and gray fineline pieces. Beyond his craft, Big Island Mike is an avid BMX rider and has served as an X-Games BMX judge for over two decades.
