Charlie Geizer was the iconic founder of Tattoo Charlie’s Baltimore, a legendary studio that opened its doors in 1938. His journey in the tattoo industry began much earlier in 1915, working with traveling carnivals and circuses. Known for his natural talent and dedication, Geizer was a prolific artist, reportedly tattooing as many as 100 sailors a day. He prided himself on providing quality, professional tattooing services and was instrumental in elevating sanitation and licensing standards in Baltimore. Tattoo Charlie’s was the only shop to meet new regulations in 1953, solidifying its place as a cornerstone of American tattoo history.
