With a tattooing career that began in 1995, Koenig has garnered extensive global experience, both tattooing and being tattooed by numerous artists. His journey led him to San Francisco in 1987, where he immersed himself in the tattoo world for two decades. During this time, he played a pivotal role in managing Ed Hardy’s legendary Tattoo City, learning the craft directly from masters like Hardy and Freddy Corbin. In 1997, Koenig brought his deep expertise and passion for the art form back to Des Moines, establishing Yankee Doodle Dandy Tattoo.
