Doug Fink, known professionally as Horihyo, is an esteemed Artist and Owner at Bushido. With an impressive 28 years in the tattooing industry, he has dedicated 14 of those to the traditional Japanese art of Tebori, a hand-tattooing method practiced for over 400 years. Horihyo trained extensively under his Sensei, Ryugen from Tokyo, Japan, and is a respected member of the Ryugendo Family. His Sensei bestowed upon him the name Horihyo, which translates to “Tattoo Leopard,” a testament to his unique style and personality. While Horihyo lines his Tebori designs by machine, he meticulously executes the color and shading entirely by hand, offering clients a traditional experience known for less pain and quicker healing compared to machine tattooing.
