Greg Bartz is a foundational artist and the likely owner of Black Anvil Tattoo Shop in San Diego, CA. With a graphic design degree from the Academy of Art in San Francisco in 2004, Greg’s deep-rooted passion for body art began with his very first tattoo. Largely self-taught, he has been skillfully tattooing since 2005. While Greg embraces and appreciates all styles of tattooing, he holds a particular affinity for realism, which has become a significant focus in his recent work. His artistry is profoundly influenced by the world around him, his fellow artists, and acclaimed figures such as Mark Ryden, A. Mucha, Salem, and Craig Driscoll.
