Jake Richman is the owner and an artist at Moth & Magpie Tattoo Studio in Augusta, GA. A born and raised New Yorker, Jake initially pursued a life in music before discovering his passion for tattooing. He began his apprenticeship in 2011, initially drawn to American Traditional and Neo-traditional color tattoos. However, Jake found his true calling in blackwork, mastering the ability to render illustrative, traditional, neo-traditional, geometric, and realistic designs using various values and densities of black ink. After gaining extensive experience in Northwest Ohio, he moved to Augusta, GA in 2019 and founded Moth & Magpie Tattoo Studio in January 2022, aiming to create a friendly, safe, and inviting environment. His distinctive work often features animal skulls, floral arrangements, illustrative animals, mushrooms, and insects. Outside the studio, Jake enjoys art projects, shooting pool, reading, and traveling.
