Janine Kupsch, also known as J9, is a vibrant tattoo artist and illustrator based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, working out of James Tex’s iconic Deadly Tattoos. With a background in Visual Communication Design and Illustration, she transitioned from graphic design to tattooing in 2015. Janine is passionate about bold and bright colors, botanical illustration, animals, pop culture tattoos, and blackwork scientific illustration. She is committed to creating a safe and positive experience for clients across all body types. Outside the studio, Janine enjoys art, 90s hip-hop, fashion, travel, live shows, and spending time with her hairless cats, Guillermo and Paloma.
