Johnny Jackson

Johnny Jackson is the esteemed owner and founder of Texas Body Art in Houston, Texas. A visionary in the tattoo industry, he began his tattooing journey at the age of 14 in 1981, eventually joining Shaw’s Tattoo in 1992. Jackson is renowned for pioneering the neotraditional tattoo style in Texas, earning over 100 awards during an impressive eight-year tour of tattoo conventions. Throughout his illustrious career, he tattooed numerous celebrities and athletes, including basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal, for whom he created the iconic Superman and TWISM tattoos. His client roster also featured members of Triple Six Mafia, Rob Zombie’s guitarist Piggy D, and several Houston Texans players like Arian Foster and Owen Daniels. One of his most notable artistic feats involved inking a complex, enigmatic puzzle of tattoos on The World Famous Enigma. Although he retired from active tattooing in 2021, Johnny Jackson’s indelible mark on the industry continues through his mentorship of emerging artists and his ongoing operation of Texas Body Art, a studio celebrated for its commitment to personalized artwork and high standards of safety for over 27 years.
