Lu

Lu is an artist at Guru Tattoo’s Pacific Beach location. He began his tattooing journey in Montreal, Quebec, in 2006, and has since had the unique opportunity to travel and work across various countries including Norway, Iceland, Australia, France, and Germany. Fulfilling a long-held dream, Lu now calls San Diego home, finding Guru Tattoo to be a highly professional studio that fuels his creative boundaries.

His primary specialties include American Traditional, Black & Gray, Color, Japanese, European Traditional, Blackwork, Fine Line, and Ornamental styles. Lu has a particular affinity for classic American Traditional imagery, featuring iconic designs such as tall ships, eagles, wolves, daggers, and roses. Beyond tradition, he also draws inspiration from the mysterious and unknown, often weaving elements of the afterlife and outer space into his distinctive work. As Lu himself expresses, “Tattooing is a wild ride full of adventure, meaning, and commitment that connects people in a very special way. I couldn’t see myself doing anything else.” When not creating intricate tattoos, he enjoys riding his motorcycle or surfing.
