Marcy Nielsen is the acclaimed founder of History Ink Tattoo in Edmonton, AB. With over 19 years of experience, she is an internationally recognized and published artist, holding a BFA in Fine Arts from the University of Alberta. Marcy has been featured in various publications, notably being one of only five Canadian artists included in Nordic Black’s “The Nordic Tattoo Volume 3,” a worldwide publication showcasing the best Nordic and Celtic tattooers. Specializing in traditional and ancient design styles, Marcy’s expertise spans Nordic & Celtic, Polynesian, and Ornamental & Geometric tattooing. Her work is celebrated for its intricate details, cultural significance, and timeless designs, often incorporating knot work, mythological beasts, natural subject matter, and geometric patterns. Beyond her signature styles, she is adept at all types of custom tattooing, including illustrative, traditional, neo-traditional, Japanese, realism, and abstract work, bringing diverse client visions to life with a deep understanding of drawing, painting, and color theory.
