Marlee Watts

Marlee Watts is a co-owner and integral part of Hemlock Tattoo in Calgary, AB, where they initially served as the studio’s general manager and continue to contribute to its creative and community-driven foundation. With a lifelong fascination for body modification, Marlee pursued a degree in Jewellery and Metalsmithing, graduating with honours from the Alberta University of the Arts in 2015, and has run their jewellery business since 2009. Watts began their tattoo apprenticeship five years ago under the mentorship of their fellow Hemlock co-owners, developing a practice grounded in consent-based and trauma-aware approaches. They enjoy working in both black and grey and color, drawing consistent inspiration from the natural world, and are currently accepting clients for both flash and custom designs.
