Michael Lauen

Michael Lauen is a highly regarded tattoo artist and a driving force behind Level Up Tattoo Studio in Saskatoon, SK. Having transitioned from a fulfilling career as a social worker to pursue his artistic passions, he embarked on his tattooing journey in 2013 with an apprenticeship at ON2U Body Piercing and Tattoos, followed by three and a half years at Tantrix Body Art. In 2017, Michael branched out to establish his own practice, which ultimately led to the creation of Level Up Tattoo Studios.

Known for his illustrative style, Michael specializes in blackwork, neo-traditional, and watercolour tattoos, often incorporating varying line weights. His favorite subjects include animals, flowers, nature, animation, and comics, with a particular love for putting his unique spin on beloved Disney characters. A sponsored artist for Skin Masters Tattoo After Care and El Diablo Tattoo Needles and Supplies, Michael’s mastery and “huge heart” are evident in every custom design he creates. Beyond his artistry, he is a dedicated family man, actively involved in his children’s activities, and a committed community member, frequently organizing “Flash Day” fundraisers for charitable organizations.
