Michael Prickett II

Michael Prickett II is the founder of Hummingbird Tattoo Studio in Shawnee Hills, Ohio. With over two decades of tattooing experience spanning Indiana, Ohio, and the Midwest, Michael began his journey shortly after tattooing was legalized in Indiana in 1997. He refined his craft at The Tattooed Heart in Lafayette under Roger Miley’s guidance, while simultaneously earning a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Purdue University. This academic background deeply informs his commitment to community service.

Throughout his career, Michael has balanced his passion for tattooing with significant social work, including developing beneficial programs for the Tippecanoe County Juvenile Justice System and serving as a caseworker for Franklin County Children Services. He is especially known for his impactful work through Survivor’s Ink, where he has provided over 100 complete cover-up tattoos to women formerly involved in sex trafficking, helping them reclaim their bodies and erase painful marks from their past. Michael also actively volunteers with various organizations and supports local fundraisers by donating tattoos and paintings. Through Hummingbird Tattoo Studio, he continues to dedicate himself to both his artistry and impactful community service.
