Mick Metal is the current owner and a highly experienced tattoo artist at Shotsie’s Tattoo in Tenafly, NJ. His journey in the body modification industry began in 2003 as a body piercer, leading him to complete his tattoo apprenticeship in 2004 under the tutelage of the renowned Shotsie Gorman. Mick’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish Revolution Tattoo Co. in Pearl River, NY, before he returned to Shotsie’s Tattoo. A passionate advocate for the tattooing community, he notably spearheaded the fight against unjust ink laws in New York in 2014. Since 2021, Mick has been a dedicated Board Member, and now Vice President, of the Alliance of Professional Tattooists (APT), continuously championing artists’ rights and professional standards. He proudly took the helm of Shotsie’s Tattoo in July 2022, continuing its legacy of professional service and custom artistry. Mick is available for appointments.
