Paul Taylor is the esteemed founder and owner of Gifted Spider Tattoo in Berkeley, CA. With a career spanning back to 1990, he is a highly diverse artist known for his exceptional detail, rich color, and beautiful blending. Paul’s specialties include Color, Tribal, Hand-Tapping, and Black & Gray, often working with vegan and organic inks. Having tattooed in San Francisco for 25 years after moving to California in ’92, he has received numerous awards for ‘best tribal tattoo’. Paul is also recognized for his unique Japanese-American style and his mastery of traditional hand-tapping, a technique he learned from the Iban tribe in Borneo. A surrealist at heart, he is passionate about mythological illustrations, bio-mechanical, bio-organic, and anything strange and unusual. As an empath, he often creates custom designs, drawing on internal visions for clients open to his artistry.
