Payton is an Artist at The Hyve Tattoo Studio in New Westminster, BC, where he channels a rich artistic heritage into his unique tattoo designs. Born and raised in North Vancouver, his family’s deep artistic roots, including a grandmother who ran an art studio in the 1970s, have significantly influenced his path. With over two years of studio experience, following time honing his skills through community teaching, Payton specializes in illustrative realism, fineline floral, and large-scale floral designs. He also finds joy in incorporating animals, skulls, organic elements, and has a particular passion for portraiture, especially micro pet portraits. Payton’s design process is intuitive, often involving freehand floral work directly onto the skin with markers, fostering a unique connection between artist and client. He believes that the emotional resonance of a design is meaning enough, drawing inspiration from nature, his experiences as a surfer, and even high fashion runway shows.
