Shan Arter is the visionary owner and founder of Tiger Tattoo in Victoria, BC. Her journey in the tattoo industry began in 2008 in Nanaimo, British Columbia, where she discovered her passion within a supportive collective of artists. Eager to expand her expertise, Shan became certified in cosmetic tattooing in 2010 through Bio Touch Canada Cosmetic Tattoo School. After relocating to Victoria in 2016, she realized her dream of creating a unique tattoo collective, opening Tiger Tattoo in 2017. Shan envisioned a studio that champions authenticity and mutual support, fostering an environment where individual strengths are celebrated, growth is encouraged, and human connections thrive. She is dedicated to helping her artists reach their full potential and provides exceptional support, including extended medical benefits for her team. While Shan specializes in cosmetic tattooing, her leadership has cultivated a studio renowned for a diverse range of styles, including Neo Traditional, Traditional, Fine Line, and Grey Scale, offered by the talented artists she brings together.
