Profile
“Tahiti Felix” Lynch began his tattooing journey as an apprentice to Lawrence Lee “Mac” McKeever on The Pike in Long Beach during the 1930s. After honing his skills, he tattooed on The Pike until 1948, when he opened his own shop in San Pedro. A year later, in 1949, he moved to San Diego and established the renowned Tahiti Felix’s Master Tattoo & Museum at 317 F Street, serving a clientele primarily composed of sailors. Felix continued to operate his influential shop until his retirement in 1979, leaving a significant legacy in West Coast tattooing, which included mentoring legendary tattooer Zeke Owen.
