Adam Siehr Khampong, known professionally as Tattoo Adam and by his honored artistic name Horiyume, is a highly distinguished Tebori Tattoo Artist based in Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii. He was bestowed the name Horiyume by the legendary Tattoo Master Horiyoshi3. With over 30 years of experience, Tattoo Adam established 434 Custom Tattoo in 2004, a premier studio renowned for its expertise in traditional Japanese and custom hand-poke tattooing.
Horiyume’s specialization lies in authentic traditional Japanese tattoos, encompassing extensive Irezumi, Tebori (Japanese hand-poke), Wabori, and Horimono styles. His mastery is evident in crafting intricate Japanese sleeves adorned with classic motifs such as koi fish, dragons, samurai, and geishas. Beyond his profound knowledge of Japanese artistry, he is also adept at creating island-inspired designs, including tribal, geometric, and symbolic Polynesian patterns, alongside black & grey realism, vibrant color tattoos, and delicate small and minimalist designs.
Adam’s tattooing journey began in 1994 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he completed an apprenticeship under John Cervantez at Accents In Ink. His career progressed on the Las Vegas Strip at Diversity, gaining exposure to a diverse clientele, including high-profile individuals like Mike Tyson. Relocating to Honolulu in 1999, he contributed to the opening of Tattoolicious and later worked at Aloha Tattoo before founding his private studio, 434 Custom Tattoo. Clients visiting his Waikiki studio are treated to a unique and sterile environment, enriched with collectibles from his global travels, which reflect his deep artistic and cultural path.
