A native San Franciscan, his artistic journey began in childhood, sketching superheroes and honing his skills at SF’s renowned School of the Arts. He launched his professional tattooing career in 1993, tattooing from an early age and working at Jerry’s Tattoo before establishing Lucky Vans Tattoo as a sole proprietor in 2008. With over 27 years of experience, Van is celebrated for his master skills in portraits, black and grey single needle work, traditional Japanese style, islander/Polynesian style, and cosmetic tattoos. His dedication to the craft has made Lucky Vans Tattoo a welcoming space for all walks of life in the city.
